2018 — 2019
Spectrum (Contractor)
As a Cognizant contractor for Spectrum, I was a Data Engineer who improved backend databases and services to improve processes for testers.
Cognizant is a IT consulting company and my first job out of college in 2018. My client was Spectrum in Denver and we helped create a tool to expedite provisioning and testing set-top boxes (cable boxes).
I developed our database in mySQL and ingested data using REST APIs and set up a more agile workflow for the project which created savings of over $250,000.
Along with this tool I roadmapped a plan to conduct penetration testing on set-top boxes and developed visualizations using Splunk to track error and exception codes for the new hardware and firmware upgrades.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Automated error code analysis, leading to a $240K annual savings and a reduction in dev workload by 3 days per sprint cycle.
Designed and implemented a robust ETL database, reducing lead time for functional analysts by 25-30 business days.
